The Bernstein in Bielefeld

Always friendly staff, always happy to have my coffee there on the weekend, but unfortunately this is no longer due to Corona. But I'm looking forward to the time when you can do that again. The dishes are also always very tasty.

Great location with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, I think the food is not that great in terms of value for money.

In itself a nice place, but the staff are very unfriendly and you wait around 45 minutes for your bill on average (I not only waited so long once for the bill). The meal was okay. However cold or a bit colder than lukewarm. One of the employees was prepared for a riot and when my sister and I didn't want to tip because she was just rude, she gave us a disgusting look. So in the end we did tip because we felt so uncomfortable. We also told her that we had to leave quickly. Nevertheless, after several requests, we did not receive the invoice. Thanks, but I'll NEVER go back here. Even if the ambience is very nice.

Good selection of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. In terms of price, the ambience is appropriate. A recommendation for an evening out!

Many years ago it was THE top address in Bielefeld ... after that the quality of the drinks, food and service had drastically decreased. Since last summer (2019) I've been there several times, both to eat and to linger over drinks ... only last week before last Friday.

In terms of taste, everything is a treat here. The quantities are an appealing and filling dimension. Not only the nice staff was a total hit during my visit, but also the great flair. The tables were properly cleaned and the seating was extremely comfortable. I also think the prices are completely fair.

Badly organized, one meal arrives, you only find out the other then, unfortunately, all ... Two people actually like to be together and not one after the other ... With the bill you are much faster than with the drink ordered at the same time.

After a long time I was there again for the breakfast buffet on Saturday. 3 days in advance it was easy to reserve a table for four people. The service was very friendly and brisk. The breakfast menu was very extensive. If something was grazed, it was quickly refilled. Nice side effect to good food: the view of the roofs of Bielefeld!

A very nice atmosphere with an incredible view of the whole of Bielefeld. The waiter good treatment. Selection of products for breakfast. The only downside is the excessive cost of the drink. A coffee with milk for € 3.50 is too much. You have to be careful with bees, it is really uncomfortable to keep them away all the time. Security measures will be taken for the time of the Covid.

There was nothing wrong with the food itself. Delicious quickly, what more could you want. Unfortunately, in Corona times, the store is fully occupied without any gaps being maintained. If guests only have the MNS by mouth, then nobody cares. When asked whether we could sit at a table in a corner that was less crowded, we were treated a bit rude. As long as we are struggling with Corona, I would avoid the store.

For guests of the city, this offers a nice overview of the same. It's clean and the food is okay, but anything but outstanding. For the price of the food, I expect a little more, and it's quite crowded, especially on weekends. In summer for outdoor use should be reserved early.

Above the roofs of Bielefeld. An extraordinary restaurant, which is worth a visit for the view alone. There are no parking spaces on site, but you can park nearby at the town hall and then just cross the street. The top floor, where the restaurant is located, is easily reached via an elevator. The atmosphere is very classy and the view is great. Sitting outside with a cocktail in summer is pure quality of life. The food is ok too and so are the prices. However, the focus at this location is clearly on the ambience.

Disappointing this time! We were there on Saturday with a JGA. We had to wait a long time for our starter. When I had to make a short phone call to move the table to the next location, I saw the starters in the kitchen including some main courses. The starters were very good that's why I give them the second star. The main courses were unfortunately partly cold. I told the waiter, who was just walking past our table (our waitress suddenly disappeared) that he apologized, but we didn't even get a discount or anything like that. We couldn't have waited for a new dish because we were already behind schedule. When we were finally able to pay (we had to wait longer for that too) a very nice waitress came to the table but unfortunately without a wallet, she also apologized for the haywire and horrible things, but no one came to meet us here either. On a Saturday afternoon, with more than 3 people, I wouldn't go to the Bernstein again, what a shame.

Luxurious terrace, the view is just fire❤ very large portions. Tested pastas and salads. Seafood pasta with pesto, very good. Pasta with veal fire - good meat, wonderful sauce. Salads. I say right away, big. One Caesar with a chicken gets in with difficulty. The beer is very good. But the cocktails .... just incredible. And very alcoholic)))) such straight ah) All in all, the place is highly recommended❤

Really nice view outside on the terrace. Good food but a bit pricy. Breakfast buffet did not include coffee...and only 1 glass of orange juice. Pepper and salt wasn't on the table.

The view and the ambience are great, I have not been convinced of the food for a long time. It is not as good as you would expect from a restaurant of this standard: pasta is served cold, bread is sometimes old or dishes are drowned in sauces. Everyone his ...

Overall, very nice vibe with good service. Food was also good.

The place it's elegant and nice because of the view, so lovely to be in the terrace. The service it's not good, people are always nervous every time I have been to this pace. Such a pity!

The food is ok, nothing exceptional but still way better than the service. We waited more than 1 hour for a shrimps dish and a plate of simple spaghetti al pesto

We ordered 2 beers, an espresso and asked for a glass of tapwater. The manager (Yavuz) said they don't have a tap and and we should buy another espresso to have a little bit of water or buy a bottle instead. Bottom line: we spent money, were just thirsty, and this bar wouldn't even spare a glass of water! Unbelievable!

Nice, especially in summer.

Wow... by far the best breakfast in Bielefeld, the views of the city were a lovely addition :-)

I don't know what it costed I was a guest but the breakfast buffet was full standard from musli/cornflakes to a type of english breakfast with German bacon and sausages fried egg scrambled egg to fruit salad, jelly and fruit and plentiful.

Terrible customer service. Owner must be too cheap to employ enough waiters.

Excellent location and atmosphere. Food OK. The barman/drink mixer has no idea about preparing cocktails. The owner should be ashamed of the prices of this place, incredibly high.

Real good drinks and tasty, quakity food at reasonable pruce, and fantastic open restaurant!
